Kuwait- Municipality's drive to curb violations improves in last 3 mths


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Director General of Kuwait Municipality Eng. Ahmad Al-Manfouhi affirmed that the municipality in the last three months has witnessed an improvement in the way it has been dealing with violations including infringements on properties and it has managed to restore the rule of law. In a press statement that he issued on the sidelines of a Ramadan Ghabqa that he organized for municipality officials and the media, Eng. Al-Manfouhi stressed that everyone has noticed the improvement in the municipality's drive for curbing different kinds of violations.

He affirmed that the municipality, after three months, has overcome the application of law on various levels and not just the private residencies, adding that it has taken measures against infringements for industrial and investment purposes.

Eng Al-Manfouhi indicated that "violators and trespassers think 1,000 times before committing violations" due to the procedures taken by the municipality in this regard, adding that the municipality has so far applied the law on 32 trespassing houses.

Regarding the continuous power cuts in some areas due to overload and excessive current extraction from electricity boards, he affirmed that the municipality will strictly deal with this issue in accordance with the law. Eng Al-Manfouhi said, "In seven days, about KD 31 million will reach our accounts through advertisements and the problems related to signing of contracts and amending others following the crisis that has been ongoing for ages. About KD 1 million has already been collected from advertisements in some governorates".

He revealed that an industrial plot has been denied use for its relevant purpose because the owner committed violations in the activities, adding, "For the first time, we join hands with the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources for dealing with existing infringement cases" Eng Al-Manfouhi affirmed that the political leadership and the people he has been meeting have all praised the efforts exerted by the municipality. He thanked the municipality staff for the efforts they exerted in realizing these achievements.
