Kuwait Gov't, judiciary in concord on independent judicial law


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, June 22 (KUNA) -- Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaqoub Al-Sanea said on Wednesday the government and the Supreme Judicial Council reached consensus on the judiciary''s independence law following a marathon session between the two sides late on Tuesday.

Minister Al-Sanea, addressing the parliamentary follow-up session, expressed deep gratitude to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for their support for the judicial authority.

He lauded the National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim for his bids since months to reach the consensus "on the historic law that represents the judicial authority." (end) jy.rk
