(MENAFN- Morocco World News) The White House said in statement on Wednesday that the American First Lady, Michelle Obama, is due to visit Morocco with her teen daughters Malia and Sasha and her mother Marian Robinson at the end of June to promote education for girls.

Obama will be joined by actor Meryl Streep in Morocco on June 28 and 29 to talk about commitments made by the U.S. government and the Kingdom of Morocco to help girls go to school, the same source said.

The trip aims also to highlight U.S. commitments through the Millennium Challenge Corporation, an independent U.S. foreign aid agency, and USAID to help Moroccan girls attend and stay in school.

Obama will also travel to Spain and Liberia where she is supposed to lead activities for the promotion of education for girls.

No further details were given on whether Michelle Obama and her daughters will be vacationing in Morocco after her official activities.
