UAE Embassy in Mogadishu oversees distribution of food to Yemeni refugees

MOGADISHU, 13th June, 2016 (WAM) -- The UAE Embassy in Mogadishu has overseen the distribution of food items to Yemeni refugees in the Somali capital as part of the Iftar Project, which is implemented by the embassy with the support of the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC.

The project includes the distribution of Ramadan food parcels containing basic food items to meet the needs of Yemeni refugees during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Mohammed Ahmed Othman Al Hammadi, UAE Ambassador to Somalia, oversaw the process of food distribution in the presence of the Charge d''Affaires of the Yemeni Embassy in Mogadishu.

The Yemeni refugees expressed their thanks and appreciation to the UAE''s leadership, government and people for their humanitarian initiatives that contribute to alleviating the suffering of Yemeni refugees in Somalia.
