Kuwait- Nod to recycling of tyres

(MENAFN- Arab Times) The parliamentary Priorities Committee discussed Sunday the importance of monitoring environmental violations and agreed on allocating land for the recycling of tyres and another area for waste disposal. Committee Rapporteur MP Ahmad Lari disclosed the committee also talked about the Doha Station which will be completed after four years, planting trees along the highways and borders, and handing over the zoo and fodder projects to the private sector. He said the committee assessed the programs of the Environment Public Authority (EPA), noting that the authority's bylaws will be issued within two weeks.

He added the committee discussed with the Defense Ministry representatives the Military College projects that will be implemented in accordance with the new law on tenders and the problems of Special Forces.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Finance and Economic Affairs Committee MP Faisal Al-Shaye disclosed they met a group of young entrepreneurs, headed by former oil official Ahmed Al-Arbeed. He said the young entrepreneurs presented an initiative on "turning oil from black to gold such that the oil industries will increase their revenues 30 times by selling crude oil." He added, "We thank all those behind this project which gives a good impression on young people who are interested in the economic affairs and financial resources of the country." He affirmed the committee agreed to forward the initiative to the competent government authorities including the State Ministry for Planning and Development Affairs.

In another development, MP Yousef Al-Zalzalah has forwarded questions to the concerned ministers about the recruitment of Kuwaiti and non- Kuwaiti experts and advisers. He wants to know their names, nationalities, academic qualifications, work experiences, legalities of their appointment, duration of tenure and remuneration. He also requested for copies of decisions and correspondences related to the recruitment of these experts and advisers.
