Kuwait- Sheikha Fariha urges care for Arab women refugees

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO May 4 (KUNA) -- It is crucial that maximum care and attention be given to refugee and displaced women and children caught up in wartime conditions in the Arab region said President of the Kuwaiti Society for the Ideal Family Sheikha Fariha Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Wednesday.

She made that press statement to KUNA on the sideline of her participation for the second day in the Arab Women's Conference which deals with the plight of Arab refugee women in the Middle East region.

She said she was confident that the conference would come up with recommendations as to concrete plans aimed at protecting women refugees in the region especially those currently living in precarious conditions outside their homelands. These refugees should be attended to with care until their eventual return to their home countries she said.

Begun last Wednesday the conference goes on for three days focusing on among other things the role of the private sector and civil society in helping Arab women refugees and their children and families get back on their feet and carry on a normal life as soon as practicable. (end) msh.ajs
