Kuwait Cabinet condemns Syrian regime s airstrikes on civilian targets in Aleppo

KUWAIT 2nd May 2016 (WAM) -- The Kuwaiti Cabinet has condemned the Syrian regime's continued airstrikes on civilian gathering places residential areas and hospitals in Aleppo city over the last few days.

During its weekly meeting held under the chairmanship of the Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah the cabinet stressed that these airstrikes which killed and wounded several innocent people including children violate all international charters and humanitarian laws and run counter to Islam and all religions.

The Kuwait News Agency said that the ministers renewed their call for the international community to put an end to these humanitarian disasters and brutal crimes committed by the regime against the Syrian people.

Afterwards they discussed the latest political developments on both Arab and international levels.

The Cabinet issued a statement wishing a speedy recovery for those injured and stressed Kuwait's firm stance which rejects all criminal acts targeting innocents and destabilising nations.

The ministers said that the State of Kuwait also stressed that it stands side by side with Turkey and the Turkish people in the face of criminal acts and supports it in all measures taken to maintain its security. The cabinet condemned the blast that hit Turkey's Bursa city last Wednesday killing and wounding several victims.

The ministers voiced their satisfaction about the progress made by Kuwait on the UN e-governments ranking report of 2016.

Kuwait advanced from 49th place in 2014 to 40th place in 2016 out of 193 countries and ranked third among the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council states after Bahrain and the UAE.
