Morocco Takes Note of UNSG Report on Sahara: Ambassador


(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Morocco has taken note of the report of the UN Secretary General to the Security Council on the Sahara the kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Omar Hilale said.

The kingdom has a lot of remarks on its content and reserves the right to return to this report the Moroccan ambassador added.

Priority is given currently to the resolution that the UN Security Council is expected to adopt by the end of this month the diplomat underlined adding that Morocco is focusing on related consultations and negotiations.

The Security Council is scheduled to decide whether or not to renew the mandate of the United Nations Mission in the Sahara known as MINURSO next Thursday April 28.

It is annual report on the 'Situation concerning the Western Sahara' made public last Monday the UN chief calls on the 15-member body to renew MINURSO's mandate for one year until April 30 2017.
