Two men who allegedly kidnapped together with a compatriot at large a woman and raped her under intimidation and use of force have all been sentenced to life in prison.

According to prosecution records the two Bangladeshi men - a driver (M.A.) and a jobless (A.J.) aged 30 and 33 - raped the woman a Filipina and then threatened to kill her if she informed the police.

They also allegedly stole her mobile phone and cash and then sold her to a woman for sexual exploitation.

They were found guilty by the Court of First Instance on charges of human trafficking kidnap rape with the use of force forcible theft and blackmail.

The runaway was sentenced in absentia. The court ordered their deportation after completing their sentences.

The case dates back to December 21 2014.

The complainant a 32-year-old manager said that while she was waiting for a cab in Al Quoz to go to Motor City a car driven by M.A. stopped for her and offered to give her a ride to her destination for the same fare as a taxi.

He spoke on the phone in his own language and shortly later two men rode with him. The three men raped her she said. She was stopped twice from jumping out of the running car.

They also threatened to kill her if she informed the police.

They stopped in a car park and then a woman rode in the back seat next to her.

She asked her to work in prostitution and took her to a villa in Al Waheeda in Al Muraqqabat where she locked her up.

There was another woman of the same nationality also held up against her will there. The complainant said the security guard also raped her.

After the guard went to sleep she climbed on the kitchen wall and squeezed herself through a hole and escaped.

She waited for the morning to seek the help of a man to call the police.

A policeman said they could track the driver through the security cameras at a petrol station where he stopped in Umm Suqeim. It was known that his car belonged to a rental service.

M.A. was arrested at Sharjah Airport upon returning from a trip.

He willingly admitted to having raped the complainant with the help of the other two defendants. J.A. was also arrested at the same airport few weeks later.

They admitted to having sold the victim to a woman for Dh3000 to exploit her in prostitution.

The defendants may appeal the verdict within 15 days.
