Oman- Al Khoudh Bridge is safe says Muscat Municipality

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat-

Muscat Municipality said in a statement that in response to the news circulated on social media about the displacement and increasing gap between concrete blocks of the Al Khoudh Bridge the Municipality together with the consultant of the project conducted a comprehensive inspection of the bridge.

The inspection concluded that the spaces among the extension connection are natural and within the dimensions specified at the design of the bridge.

The inspection of the bridge pillars also pointed out that they are okay and that there is no abnormal displacement.

The bridge beams and columns were found to be without any slope or displacement.

Muscat Municipality affirmed that Al Khoudh Bridge is properly constructed and safe for use.

It also affirmed that the simple drop of the soil felt by drivers before the bridge towards Muscat has nothing to do with the safety of the bridge as it is due to the filling materials in the body of the road and not related to the bridge. The contractor of the road will do the needful to address this issue soon.
