Ukrainian President Poroshenko to visit Turkey


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is to make an official visit to Turkey on March 9-10 the Ukrainian president’s office said in a statement on March 7.

Poroshenko will carry out talks with Turkish PresidentRecep Tayyip Erdoanand Prime Minister Ahmet Davutolu according to the statement.

Poroshenko will also meet with Turkish Parliament Speaker smail Kahraman.

Within the framework of the visit the fifth session of the High Level Strategic Council betweenUkraineand Turkey will also be held. Poroshenko will also have a meeting with Turkish business representatives.

Davutolu had paid a one-day visit to the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on Feb. 15 during which he held meetings with Poroshenko and Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk. Davutolu and Yatsenyuk had also held a joint press conference.

Davutolu had regarded the relationship between the two countries as a “strategic union” while Poroshenko had thanked Turkey for supporting Ukraine’s stance regarding the situation in Crimea.
