U.S. welcomes Riyadh meeting of Syrian opposition groups
(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Washington Safar 27 1437 December 09 2015 SPA -- The United States welcomed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's hosting of a meeting of Syrian opposition groups in Riyadh during the period 8-10 December calling it an "important step in creating momentum for negotiations" on a political transition in Syria.
"We welcome the coming together in Riyadh today of a broad and representative gathering of the Syrian opposition to work towards a consensus on their positions" State Department spokesman John Kirby said in a press statement.
