Middle East ready for increase in air passenger traffic


(MENAFN) The UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan are ready to accomplish a strong 4.9 percent growth in air passenger traffic.

The gulf nations will all enjoy strong increase of 5.6 percent, 4.8 percent, and 4.6 percent and the whole market size will be 383mn passengers.

According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), it predicted that passenger numbers will reach seven billion by 2034 with a 3.8 percent growth.

"The demand for air transport continues to grow. There is much work to be done to prepare for the 7 billion passengers expected to take the skies in 2034," said IATA's Director General and CEO.
