The Scholarships Office of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs and UAE Space Agency sign MoU

ABU DHABI 26th November 2015 (WAM) -- The Scholarships Office of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs and The UAE Space Agency have signed a Memorandum of Understanding MoU aimed at developing the national cadre in space sciences.

The signing took place in the presence of Ahmed Mohammed Al Humairi Secretary-General of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs and Dr. Khalifa Mohamed Al Romaithi Chairman of the UAE Space Agency.

Mohammed Khalifa Al Hameli Director of Scholarship Offices and Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Ahbabi Director-General of the UAE Space Agency signed the agreement. The MoU aims at providing qualified people in space sciences with scholarships in the fields of cosmic engineering space physics robotics engineering mechanical engineering self-control system along with computer engineering applied physics space law space policy and space economics.

Al Humairi commended the MoU calling it an important step in the development of national capabilities specialised in space sciences adding that the scholarships office will oversee the student and provide them with the necessary support.

Al-Romaithi said that the MoU comes in line with the strategic plan of the space sector in the country as well enhancing and supporting the scientific research efforts projects and innovations in the field of space in support of the scientific progress march to put the UAE on the global space map.
