Iran gets vital USD10.6m investment in fisheries industry


(MENAFN) A French firm plans to invest USD10.6 million in fisheries industries in the western Iranian province of Lorestan, which reflects the progressing business relation between the two nations, based on recent reports.

Additionally, the allocated investment will be devoted for producing salmon fingerlings in Aligudarz, hence creating a large unit for annual production of approximately 250 million eyed eggs.

Moreover, the province produces 20 tons of salmon and reproduces 130 million baby salmon asserting annually, thus it's considered number one in cold-water fish production among non-coastal provinces.

"With the building of the salmon breeding complex, the nation will no longer need to import the fish, which calls for necessary setups like electricity for the building of the complex," said the head of Lorestan Agricultural division.
