Mohammed bin Rashid Humanitarian Establishment offers AED 2 mn to ERC in support of Yemen s relief programmes

Dubai 24th November 2015 (WAM) -- The Mohammed bin Rashid Charitable and Humanitarian Establishment has donated AED 2 million to the Emirates Red Crescent in support of its relief and rebuilding programmes in Yemen.

Ibrahim Bumelha Adviser to the Ruler of Dubai for Humanitarian and Cultural Affairs and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Establishment has presented a cheque of the amount to Mohammed Al Zarounie head of the ERC branch in Dubai during a meeting which also tackled humanitarian assistance extended by the UAE to Yemen to alleviate the sufferings of the Yemeni people and improve their living conditions.

Relief programmes being carried out by the Establishment as well as future projects were also discussed.

Upon the directives of the UAE leadership the Establishment has sent 30 tonnes of relief assistance to Socotra to help those affected by the tropical cyclone Chapala which recently struck the island.

It has sent 130 tonnes of sugar 135 tonnes of rice and 68 tonnes of edible oil as part of the UAE relief initiatives to help Yemeni people improve their living conditions.
