Saudi- KSA brought Mideast and South America closer

(MENAFN- Arab News) RIYADH: Several South American diplomats have praised Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for helping to bring Arabs and South Americans closer on regional and global issues at the fourth Summit of Arab-South American Countries (ASPA) in Riyadh last week.
They said the king was instrumental in setting in place mechanisms that would see a three-year action plan developed to boost trade cultural and Political ties.
Ambassador of Argentina Jaime Sergio Cerda commended King Salman and his government for the smooth organization of the event. The Kingdom would play an important role by holding the ASPA presidency to implement the action plan in the coming years he said.
Cerda said his country's vice president had a long meeting with Deputy Crown Prince Muhammed bin Salman on bilateral issues including cooperation in science and technology nuclear energy education training and trade. There would now be detailed discussions to flesh out agreements he said.
Ambassador of Brazil Flavio Marega also praised King Salman for the organization of the event and said there were fruitful bilateral discussions held on several economic and political issues that would be implemented over the next three years.
He said Brazil has invited Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir to have meetings either in the Kingdom or in Brazil for detailed discussions. He said the work of participants at the summit has just started in preparation for the next meeting in Venezuela in three years time.
Ambassador of Uruguay Carlos Mora said the summit has helped to bring the two regions closer. He said he was happy with the outcome of the event and praised the leadership of Saudi Arabia for this encouraging result.
He said there was a great deal of potential to strengthen trade relations particularly in agricultural commodities and energy.
