Chinese consumer inflation hits low 1.6 percent in Sept


(MENAFN) China's consumer price index (CPI), stood at 1.6 percent in September as opposed to the previous year, a slight plunge from the 2 percent registered in August.

Meanwhile, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), consumer prices in September increased 0.1 percent on a monthly basis, adding that it rose 1.4 percent in Jan-Sept period.

Furthermore, Cities surpassed rural areas in inflation, with urban inflation rising 1.6 percent and rural inflation up 1.5 percent in the cited months, based on recent reports.
