Egypt to import 230,000 tons of wheat in October


(MENAFN) Egypt's strategic assets of domestic and imported wheat, for the production of subsidized bread, are enough until next March, as recent reports showed.

On 21-October, The country intends to buy 230,000 tons of wheat from Russia, France and Ukraine, with an average price of USD191 per ton.

Egypt, the world's largest wheat importer, consumes around 11 million tons of wheat per year, 4 million of which is acquired from local farmers and the rest from prior mentioned countries.
