Arson attack occurs against refugee shelter in Germany


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) An arson attack targeted a shelter which was to house around 330 refugees in the southwest state of Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, said a security source Sunday.

A gym, planned to be used as a shelter, was burned down, said the police in Wertheim City, adding that no casualties was reported during the fire.

Wertheim's Lord Mayor Stefan Mikulicz called the government of Baden-Wurttemberg to support the city in its efforts to host the refugees, expressing his utter shock towards the incident.

Many refugees, escaping conflicts in the Middle East, set their eyes on Germany as their final destination.
