Qatar- Strong wind, lower temperature forecast

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) It is expected to be a windy day today, although day temperatures would likely come down by a few notches than the maximum witnessed in the past two days.

The hot and humid spell actually began last Friday and the past two days have witnessed very harsh weather conditions.

About high wind, the Met office warned yesterday that it would likely hit by mid-day today, with speeds of up to 31.5km an hour, reaching over 46km an hour at times. However, as the night approaches, the wind would die down, and lose speed.

The wind direction will be southwesterly at first, turning later to northwesterly and northeasterly, said the Met office.

The wind wouldn't be as high in the seas as on land, as the speed forecast is 28km an hour, reaching 33km. It would likely kick up dust at places, affecting visibility, which could be four to eight kilometres.

The Met office has forecast the maximum at between 38 and 43 degrees C for today, at least there degree less than the maximum witnessed in the past two days.

Minimum temperature forecast is 32 to 33 degrees.

In Doha, the maximum temperature forecast is 43 degrees and the minimum 33 degrees.
