Jordan- King receives judicial report for 2014


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) His Majesty King Abdullah II on Monday received the annual report on the work of the judicial authority during 2014.

His Majesty, who received the report from Judicial Council President Hisham Tal during a meeting at Al Husseinya Palace, voiced his full support to the judiciary and its independence.

The King stressed the need to create a proper legislative and administrative environment, which guarantees a speedy and fair handling of cases before the judiciary.

The King called for continued efforts to promote specialized courts, prepare specialized judges, and support the judicial authority to ensure a high degree of professionalism.

He also reiterated the need for continued cooperation and coordination between the Judicial Council, the Ministry of Justice and other concerned agencies to address shortcomings and develop performance.

During the meeting, Tal presented a briefing on key issues included in the report, proposals to develop work of the judicial authority as well as scopes of cooperation with other agencies and institutions.

Tal told Petra that the report highlighted achievements made by various courts as well as the judiciary's strategy.
