Oman- ICV Conference to be organised on Sept 14


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) A conference on Oman's in-country value (ICV) initiative and its contribution in diversifying the economy will be organised on September 14 at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) headquarters.

The ICV Conference 2015 will be held under the patronage of H E Dr Faud Jaffer al Sajwani Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries. The event will be organised by Business Process Outsourcing Services LLC (BPOS) in association with OCCI it was announced at a press conference on Monday.

The concept of ICV comprises human resources products and services and the support of SMEs and the conference preparations and panel discussions will encompass all of these facets the organisers said.

Speaking at the press conference Anselm Perera CEO of BPOS said 'Through this conference we plan to work closely with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries the Capital Market Authority and OCCI to introduce a framework to drive the ICV initiative through to private-sector companies. The private sector is a major contributor to economic diversification which is the need of the day.'

The event will include interactive sessions with two local and two international speakers. Mohsin al Hadhrami vice president and general manager of Schlumberger Oman & Co LLC will share insights on best practices in ICV in the oil and gas sector while Omar al Jabri assistant professor of the department of natural resources economics at Sultan Qaboos University will speak on 'achieving food security and sustainability through SMEs'.

Other speakers will include: Parth Tewari World Bank's lead private sector specialist and Aubrey Joachim a renowned strategist and financial expert from Australia.
