Qatar- Doha Municipality Inspects 3,401 Food Outlets in July


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Doha Municipality inspectors carried out 2,146 surprise quality control checks on 3,401 retail food shops including restaurants and cafeterias in the month of July, officials announced here Monday.
Municipal inspectors booked 75 shops for violating health and quality standards stipulated by the municipality and destroyed 426.972 tonnes of food stuff deemed unfit for human consumption.
Health officials did 402 inspections during the last week of July and found 43 outlets violating quality standards and destroyed 236.583 tonnes of food deemed unfit for human consumption.
Doha Municipality's technical control department issued notices to 21 establishments to vacate their workers from accommodations taken in neighbourhoods where families reside.
The municipality also issued 42 notices to companies to vacate their premises. The municipality also filed three police complaints and received 28 complaints for which they issue 20 notices.
