Kuwait loans KD 4 mln to Chad for rice production


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) signed a KD 4-million (USD 13.6 million) agreement loan with Chad to help fund rice production in the Chari-Logone perennial river system, Kuwait News Agency, KUNA, reported.

In a press statement on Wednesday, KFAED said that the fund will help providing sustainable water sources to irrigate 400 acers of agricultural land, increase farmers wages and promote Chad's food security.

The agreement was signed by KFAED's deputy Director Hamad Al-Omar and Chad's Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mariam Mahamat Nour.
