Kuwait- Concerns On Freelance Protectors Of Mosques

(MENAFN- Arab Times) Groups of volunteers who have vowed to protect the mosques and places of worship putting their lives at risk, say they are working without the knowledge of the ministries of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Interior, reports Al- Shahed daily.

However, several MPs have warned the ministries of Interior and Awqaf about the task undertaken by the volunteers saying the risk is bigger than its usefulness because it may open the door for the terrorists to exploit the security loopholes. The volunteers claim they have registered for this noble cause through security firms and mosques administrations.

Some of them spoke to the daily but refused to give their names saying they may die at any moment when they confront the terrorists before they reach their target. The main aim, they say, is to prevent the would-be-terrorist from blowing himself up inside mosques. They also said as they continue to do their task, they see displeasure on the faces of many worshippers, but "we are forced to do this to protect them and the places of worship."
