Qatar Cool begins clothes donation campaign

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar District Cooling Company, also known as Qatar Cool, has launched a district-wide clothes donation campaign at the Pearl-Qatar, in association with Qatar Charity (QC) and United Development Company (UDC).

The three-month campaign ends on September 22, allowing Qatar Cool employees and customers and residents of the Pearl-Qatar to donate unused, unwanted clothes to QC's Tayf project.

The campaign is in line with Qatar Cool's initiatives in support of the social development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030.

Donation boxes are available in select areas on the Pearl-Qatar such as Porto Arabia parking lots, select Qanat Quartier parking areas and at Qatar Cool's customer service office on the island, where residents or visitors may obtain donation bags.

Yasser S Al Jaidah, CEO, Qatar Cool, said: "We have always felt a strong connection with the community we serve. Our commitment to be socially responsible on different fronts grows with us. As we promote causes through our corporate social responsibility initiatives, partnering with QC during Ramadan allows us to give back to the less fortunate in the community.

"We believe that positive change can be brought about through peer initiatives and social development activities to instil communal bonding in society."

Qatar Cool takes part in local cultural and environmental initiatives such as the annual staff blood donation drive with Hamad Medical Corporation, working with school students to create awareness about environmental causes and offering internship opportunities for graduating students as part of the human development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030.
