Boko Haram kills 9 people in northern Cameroon

(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Suspected Boko Haram insurgents burnt at least six children and three adults during an attack on a village in northern
Cameroon, officials and witnesses said Tuesday.

At least 11 others were injured when gunmen torched more than 300
homes in the village of Kamouna, which borders Nigeria, on Monday.

'The village of Kamouna has been completely destroyed. There are so
many deaths, particularly women and children,' resident Abba Abagana
told dpa by telephone.

'There was no exchange of gun fire. The assailants simply torched the
village,' regional governor Midjiyawa Bakary said from Maroua, the
capital of the Far North Region.

Security forces were investigating the incident, according to Bakary.

The attack comes less than a week after two suicide bombers killed a
dozen people in the town of Fotokol in the Far North Region.
