KRCS organizes iftar banquet for 800 displaced Syrian families in Jordan

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) organized Monday a grand iftar (fast-breaking) banquet for 800 displaced Syrian families in the Jordanian capital Amman.

In a statement to KUNA, Head of KRCS's mission in Jordan Khaled Al-Zaid said that the banquet is meant to bring together and create Ramadan joy for the civil conflict-traumatized Syrian families.

He added that the KRCS organizes, in cooperation with the Jordanian Red Crescent Society and several other local charities, iftar programs for Syrian refugees since the start of the conflict in 2011.

This year's plan aims to host iftar banquets for 28,000 Syrian families in Jordan over the holy fasting month of Ramadan, he noted.

For his part, Board Chairman of the Jordanian Red Crescent Society Mohammad Al-Hadeed said that KRCS's aid to Syrian refugees in Jordan is highly appreciated.

He expressed hopes that others world countries would follow suit of Kuwait.
