Kuwait- Some 6,860 Illegal Residents Adjust Status In 4 Yrs


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Up to 6,860 illegal residents in Kuwait have adjusted their status since 2011 till 30 June 2015, an agency said on Sunday. Up to 4,851 illegal residents were granted the Saudi nationality, director of the nationality authentication department at the Central Agency for Remedying Illegal Residents' Status, Colonel Mohammad Al- Wuhaib told KUNA. 754 others were given the Iraqi nationality.

Al-Wuhaib added that 702 residents were given the Syrian nationality, 78 Iranian, 46 Jordanian, and 429 other nationalities. He urged illegal residents willing to adjust their status to refer to the Central Agency. According to Al-Wuhaib, residents who revealed their original nationalities and adjusted their status are offered state privileges such as immediate five-year free residence for all family members, in addition to free of charge education and health services, and a ration card for commodities.
