(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has received a group of students from universities, colleges and institutes who joined the new summer internship of the Municipality 2015 held under the theme: Ambitious planning, performance and creativity and Time efficiency.
The program epitomizes the unlimited support accorded by Abu Dhabi Government to citizens through fostering community- oriented development programs aimed enriching the skills of students and grooming them to lead development projects towards more prosperity. It will also open new knowledge horizons for inductees and foster a generation well aware of its responsibilities and capable of steering the development drive in all directions.
The summer training program reflects the vision of the municipal system aimed at qualifying national cadres and cementing the bonds with educational institutions with a view to forging integration between theoretical and practical streams; which will be to the benefit of students. It also echoes the commitment of the municipal system to the community and its development.
The Municipality welcomed students and urged them to avail the opportunity to enhance their abilities, attain experience and come with essential knowhow that helps them take key posts through the induction workshop held at the beginning of the training period.
The courses held by the Municipality have proved attractive to students in clear demonstration of the support of Abu Dhabi government to citizens and empowering students. The Municipality is seeking to establish a solid base of cooperation and interaction with local educational institutions with the aim of polishing the skills of students under a set of comprehensive summer training modules delivered in a perfect training environment. The Municipality is utilizing all resources to upgrade the training process through adopting new techniques in dealing with trainees, considering them part of the Department; which has underlined the success of the summer internship programs delivered.
This year the training program started on 14 June and ends on 16 August and is tailored towards equipping trainees with complementary practical skills and polishing their academic knowhow. It will this contribute to improving the quality of graduates and their specialization, besides actively contributing to building a sustainable strategy to nurture a potent generation capable of responding to the needs of development.
The Municipality has also unleashed a presentations contest to motivate university students in the program to come with distinguished initiatives and offered an award to the best presentation about any of the municipal projects during the ceremony held at the end of the training period.
