(MENAFN- Gulf Times) QDVC has announced a QR76,000 donation to the Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) to assist with disaster relief and humanitarian efforts following the massive earthquake that struck Nepal on April 25.

A month ago, QDVC launched a campaign within the company to support earthquake victims in Nepal. Employees donated more than QR50,000 and QDVC added 50% of this amount, bringing the total donation from the company and its staff to QR76,000.

She added: "With more than 100 Nepalese employees, we felt directly impacted by the earthquake. We are pleased to support QRC with this donation to enable them to carry out their impressive work on the ground in Nepal.

"In addition, we have supported our workforce by sending home those who need to be there and helping the families of our employees that have been directly affected by this tragedy."

Saad Shaheen M al-Kaabi, director of resources mobilisation at QRC, said: "I would like to express my deepest thanks to the management and staff of QDVC for this generous donation. This reflects their sense of humanitarianism and belief in the cause of charitable organisations in Qatar."
