Qatar- Outgoing municipal council concludes regular sessions

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Central Municipal Council (CMC) concluded yesterday its regular sessions for the fourth round of the council.

The new council, the fifth round, is set to take over after the summer holidays.

At its last session, the outgoing council discussed a suggestion by one of its members to make the Ramadan initiative of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) for the subsidy of 400 food and non-food items permanent throughout the year.

The members agreed to issue a recommendation to the MEC through the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning.

The council reviewed the report of the activities of its Public Services and Utilities Committee, which held 78 meetings over the past four years and discussed 169 suggestions on 207 topics and issued 388 recommendations regarding the municipal and public services of various government departments in the country.

The committee also reviewed all the responses of such entities on its
recommendations and referred the issue to the council and its members for discussion and follow-up.
