Fashion designs need protection: Shay

(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) Shay is one of the fashion designers who was introduced to the world of fashion through the Italian Fashion Academy. She studied design and marketing, and afterwards went to Beirut, the Arab fashion capital, where she studied under the tutelage of fashion designer Rami Salamoun.
She knew early on that in order to create a successful final product, she must pay attention to the smallest details, as professionals see what we do not see. These were considered her initial learning phases, in addition to criticism, attention to drawing and following up. The quality is measured by the designer's vision for the model among experts, not among the unspecialised audience.
Mimicry kills creativity; in this regard, Shay wants to propose new ways to protect designs. The whole world wants to issue laws and legislations to protect authors and designers, among others. However, Shay believes this is the wrong direction, because they do not posses records of the designs presented, whether in couture fashion shows, social networks or the press.
In the field of fashion, unfortunately, the methods to achieve fame and success, as well as those to provide information are the same ones that facilitate theft and misattribution to non-owners. A protocol for designer protection has to be signed, following which each designer should register his group. This is no miracle, as it is already applied in Arab countries that aim to develop creativity.
Shay presented her second collection for summer 2015, the Fairy Tales collection, at the Fashion Zone Cairo Couture Collection, which took place in Fairmont Heliopolis.
Shay said she likes to design in black, because it inspires power and beauty. Black is also a challenge when it comes to creativity, so she likes to evaluate herself. She expressed her desire for Egyptian women to wear what suits them, not what others like. Every woman has her own personality, this should be reflected on many aspects, such as the way she dresses, the perfume she uses and her headscarf, if she chooses to wear one.
