(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday attended part of a seminar for senior commanders for joint military drill 'The Buzzard 4', organised by the Qatari Armed Forces in cooperation with ministries, institutions and state bodies.
Several brotherly and friendly countries took part.
Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, their excellencies, Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Major-General Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah and chiefs of staff of brotherly and friendly armed forces were also present.
The Emir saw a documentary on field exercises as part of the drill such as disaster management, crisis management, anti-terrorism and sea piracy operations, joint manoeuvres and other logistics operations.
On the sidelines, Al Attiyah said the Qatari Armed Forces gave a high priority to the drill due to its positive impact on international cooperation and support from friendly countries.
He highlighted the high-level of participation from members of the international community and it reflected their keenness to exchange expertise in the field.
The Minister expressed delight at the high number of participants and said the number has been increasing every year.
