Omani adventurer gets going again this time 25 countries in 60 days

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Omani adventurer Maher al Barwani is at it again. It's less than a year when he finished a 21-country journey on bike and he's off again. This time there are 25 countries on his itinerary and the biker will be joined by a friend in Holland.

In 2013 too Barwani had finished a trip like this.

Speaking from Dubai from where the trip begins on Sunday Barwani said 'This is my third trip around the world and I am very excited to again visit different countries and spread the message of peace. I am travelling on behalf of Oman Riders.'

Riding a BMW F800 Barwani will head to Iran from Dubai and pass through Turkey and Bulgaria. At the next stop in Holland he will be joined by his friend Sayed al Busaidi as company for the remaining leg. 'I will be covering around 5300km alone. Sayed is as adventurous as I am and will be on a Harley Davidson. Our bikes are sturdy and can travel on difficult terrains. We plan to visit the interiors meet people and talk about world peace. Last time traveling through Libya and Tunisia was a challenge. We shall avoid these two countries.'

The trip supported by Oman International Bank is expected to take around 60 days.

Barwani created history with his 2014 journey by becoming the first Omani to travel 21 nations on a bike and covering 20000km.

'I am very proud as an Omani to achieve the feat in 80 days. The trip taught me plenty of lessons on life and various cultures' he said.
