Kuwait grants award for distinguished Egyptian doctor


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The State of Kuwait has granted Sabah Al-Ahmad health boosting award 2015 to Dr. Alaa Eddine Mohammad Al-Ghamrawi of Egypt in appreciation for his contributions to establishment of the Egyptian national rheumatic heart diseases program.

Kuwaiti Minister of Health Dr. Ali Al-Obaidi, addressing the World Health Organization general assembly held here, affirmed Kuwait's support for such distinctive efforts noting that health has proven to be "the main pillars for sustainable development." The Kuwaiti award, which was first launched in 2004, depicts the close relationship between Kuwait and the international organization, he said. Moreover, it reflects Kuwait's commitment to support the WHO efforts, abide by its resolutions and recommendations since joining it in 1960.

Winner of the award praised in remarks to KUNA Kuwait's efforts in support of scientific and applied researches as well as enhancing public health.

The doctor earned the award for launching the cardiac program in Al-Mahalla to treat children suffering from rheumatic cardiac diseases.
