Sheikha Moza visits education centres in Seoul

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development H H Sheikha Moza bint Nasser has met with the President of the Innopolis Foundation Cha-dong Kim. They discussed avenues of cooperation with Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP).

QSTP and Innopolis Foundation are focused on establishing a cooperative framework that would promote and facilitate technology commercialisation including technology transfer and start-up support between both institutions.

After the meeting, Sheikha Moza visited the Seoul Namsung Elementary School, where she interacted with students and teachers to observe and share best practices in teaching and learning. The public school emphasises elements of a 'self-directed learning' approach, which encourages pupils to take more initiative in the educational process.

Sheikha Moza also toured Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art, founded by the Samsung Foundation. The museum is renowned for its collection of both traditional Korean and contemporary art and is a centre for research and artistic education. Her Highness watched collections which house traditional ceramics, sculptures and manuscripts as well as viewing 36 pieces of traditional Korean art, which are designated as Korean national treasures. Sheikha Moza was escorted by Museum Director Hong Ra-hee.
