Swiss Business Council Qatar initiates activities


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Swiss Business Council Qatar (SwissBCQ) has officially initiated its activities at a ceremony held in Doha recently. The launch is a significant initiative and marks a milestone in the further strengthening and developing the strategic business ties between Qatar and Switzerland, SwissBCQ said. The aim of the SwissBCQ is to support the development of the Swiss companies and Swiss professionals in Qatar by providing a suitable platform, business network as well as means to develop their businesses such as participating in various local business fairs, forums or business councils. The ultimate goal is to promote business opportunities from and for Switzerland. With the support of the Swiss Embassy and in close collaboration with the Swiss Business Hub, the representing body of the Switzerland Global Enterprise, the SwissBCQ was launched at a gathering which took place at the Grand Hyatt Doha. The event was attended by some 50 Swiss businessmen and professionals as well as Qatari businessmen and their representatives such as Adel al-Mannai, Rashid Mohamed al-Marri, Abdallah Nassar (Alfardan Group) and M Greiss (Teyseer Group), among others. Swiss ambassador Martin Aeschbacher and SwissBCQ president Dr Fariborz Samadian addressed the gathering. Dr Samadian welcomed the guests and spoke about the SwissBCQ programmes for 2015.
