Mohamed bin Zayed orders AED100 million for Yemeni Government's Higher Committee for Relief


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) In line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has given orders to commit AED100 million to support the Yemeni Government's Higher Committee for Relief which was announced today under the chairmanship of Yemeni Vice President and Prime Minister Khalid Bahah, to handle all relief efforts and alleviate the suffering of the brotherly people of Yemen.

The Yemeni committee, in a press conference today, declared the cities of Aden, Taiz and Dhale as disaster zones. It also declared the emergency needs of the citizens.

H.H. Sheikh Khalifa's directives came in the context of the historic and unwavering policy pursued by the UAE to back Yemen and its people during this crisis caused by the coup against the legitimate government to undermine Yemen's stability and security through the use of force.

Based on the principles of genuine brotherhood of Arabs, the UAE seeks to restore the security and stability in Yemen and alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people which was caused by the coup against the political track and the use of force to terrorise civilians in stark and systematic violations that threaten their lives.
