Saudi productive factories principal surpasses USD264.32b


(MENAFN) The principal of Saudi prolific industrial units reached USD264.32 billion by the end of January against USD71.41 billion recorded back in 2004, according to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Arab News reported.

The kingdom's Eastern Region enjoyed 61 percent of overall factory capitals, or an amount equivalent to USD161.92 billion. The region's number of productive factories stands at 6,789, which is only 23 percent of the total number of factories.

The number of employees in the productive factories reached 931,133. The number of unproductive factories stood at 1,123, with a principal that surpasses USD9.99 billion, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said in its report.
