(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Omani national arrested in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad for allegedly marrying a minor has been remanded in judicial custody for 15 days.
The 70 year old Omani national who was booked under the Nirbhaya Act and the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act has been remanded in judicial custody for 15 days' K Manoj Kumar SHO of the Kanchanbagh police station in Hyderabad city told Muscat Daily.
'We are making efforts with the state government to officially inform the Omani Embassy about the arrest' he said.
According to Kumar police has widened its lookout for foreign nationals arriving in Hyderabad with the intention of marrying minor girls besides agents who facilitate such illegal marriage contracts.
