Polish paramilitaries form with eye on increased security

(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Some are members of paramilitary groups. Others are marksmen. Yet more came from schools with military instruction. All have agreed to set up a voluntary association to provide support to the military, dap reported.

The goal is not to set up an 'army outside the army' insisted
national security adviser Stanislaw Koziej on Saturday amid a two-day
conference designed to set up the group. Instead, the move is seen as
a step to link civil defence groups more closely into the country's
security plans.

The point is to focus on a 'new quality' of cooperation between the
civilian groups and the Defence Ministry, said General Boguslaw
Pacek, who advises Defence Minister Tomasz Siemoniak.
