Agricultural Trade Center Fire Kills 9 in SW China


(MENAFN- QNA) Nine people were killed and 10 others injured after a fire engulfed an agricultural trade center on early Wednesday morning in southwest China's Yunnan Province, Shanghai Daily quoted local fire authorities and government officials as saying.

The fire broke out in three two-storey buildings in the center located in the provincial capital of Kunming City, said a spokesman with the provincial public security fire control contingent.

The blaze that raged for more than 5 hours has been put out, according to the city's information office.

Three of the injured who were rushed to the hospital have been discharged, according to the office.

The trade center, which covers three hectares, has more than 200 stores.
