Emmanuel Fromont Takes Charge of Acers Largest Region

(MENAFNEditorial) Dubai, United Arab Emirates, March 01, 2015: Acer recently announced the appointment of Emmanuel Fromont as President, Acer Europe, Middle East and Africa to further drive profitable growth for the full Acer portfolio across the entire region.
In Q3 2014 Acer posted a solid year-on-year growth of 37%(1) for total EMEA PC shipments, exceeding the overall market growth of 10.4%(1). The achievement in Q3 was the result of a strong product mix, especially for 2-in-1 devices as well as back-to-school demand. In both consumer PCs and consumer notebooks, Acer continues to firmly hold its No. 1 position across multiple countries in the EMEA region and achieved excellent sell-through results.
"Now, more than ever, Acer is positioned to deliver a portfolio of cross-computing products, services and experiences that will delight our customers. Our customers will benefit from a comprehensive end-user portfolio with Acer innovation, quality and reliability," said Emmanuel Fromont.
Emmanuel Fromont joined Acer in 2008 as Vice President of Acer EMEA's Packard Bell division and delivered strong sales growth. Notably, he was responsible for doubling the PC shipments from 2008 to 2010 to reach US$2 billion in revenue. In 2011, Mr. Fromont was promoted President of Acer Pan America, and since that time, led the highly successful launch of Chromebooks to take the No. 1 position with 42% of the US market share(2). With his leadership, Acer also expanded its market share in Canada and Latin America leading to the No. 1 spot in consumer notebooks in Brazil(1), the No. 2 spot in mobile PCs in Canada(3) and Chile(4).
Prior to joining Acer, Mr. Fromont served as Packard Bell's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and Vice President of the company's Mobility Business Unit.
