Jordan- 688 dead 14000 injured in traffic accidents in 2014


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman Feb. 26 (Petra)Statistics issued by the Central Traffic Department (CTD) Thursday showed that the number of traffic accidents and deaths had declined in 2014 compared to the previous year. According to the statistics there were 102441 accidents in the past year which resulted in 688 deaths with 14790 suffering injuries. The 2013 statistics show that the total number of accidents reached 107864 resulting in 768 fatalities with 15954 suffering injuries. In 2014 the number of deaths involving foreigners in traffic accidents reached 102 from 12615 accidents. CTD's traffic safety plan from 2013 to 2017 set up strategic objectives including reducing traffic accidents and their human and material causalities by 4 percent per year. //Petra// AF
