Unidentified man in Uganda hospital may be from Oman


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) An unidentified man believed to be from Oman is being treated in the ICU of a Uganda hospital after being brought in by police. Sources said he was found in a critical condition and had no identity on him. 

'The man is in our hospital for a week now and we have no clue about him.

He is in a critical condition and has nothing to prove his identity. Right now we need support to enable us do more investigations and also to take good care of him. So far no one has come forward to identify him' a spokesman for the Mulago Hospital in Kampala where the man is being treated told Muscat Daily.

Sources say that he is a Canadian of Iraqi origin working in Oman. When contacted the Consulate of Canada in Kampala said it was not in a position to give any details. According to Dr Charles Sendikadiwa who is among the team of doctors treating the man 'The patient has been unconscious.

However he is slowly improving. He is now being treated for head injury and pneumonia' adding that financial support to enable the hospital do more medical investigations was needed. 'Because he is unconscious he is supposed to be fed liquid food. But the patient has no one to feed him' he said.
