6 firms bid for gas, oil exploration in Croatia


(MENAFN) Croatian Economy Minister announced that six companies have bid for tender for oil and gas exploration and exploitation in the Adriatic Sea, Xinhua reported.

The companies, which included prominent and highly-skilled energy companies, were interested in 15 blocks in the Adriatic Sea, but the minister refused to give further details.

The best bids will be selected by the end of this year and contracts are likely to be signed by the end of March next year, the minister added in his statement.

On April 2nd, Croatia's Economy Ministry published an international tender for oil and gas exploration in the Adriatic Sea, saying that the offer would run until November 3rd.
