Oman, Tanzania to boost ties in agriculture, energy


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) H H Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers and Mizengo Kayanza Peter Pinda Prime Minister of Tanzania held talks at the headquarters of the Council of Ministers on Tuesday. 

Addressing the Tanzanian delegation Sayyid Fahd expressed the sultanate's satisfaction on existing cooperation between the countries and efforts being made to enhance it.

The Tanzanian premier conveyed the greetings of Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete President of Tanzania to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said the government and the people of Oman. He praised the comprehensive development achieved by the sultanate under the leadership of His Majesty the Sultan.

The meeting discussed means of boosting all aspects of bilateral cooperation implementing the existing agreements and urging officials in both countries to complete finalising agreements especially in fields such as agriculture and fisheries energy resources ports and others. Both sides also discussed other areas of common interest. Prime Minister Pinda expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation by Oman.

From the Omani side the meeting was attended by the ministers of foreign affairs financial affairs higher education transport and communications agriculture and fisheries the secretary general of the Council of Ministers the minister of state and governor of Muscat head of the mission of honour accompanying the guests the chairman of Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development and Oman's ambassador to Tanzania.
