Chennai October 28 2014: Hindustan University has signed a MoU with Dongguk University for providing Dual Degree courses across all academic disciplines. The dual degree courses will be administered jointly by Dongguk and Hindustan University starting with M.Tech Nanotech course which was recently launched by CENCON Hindustan University. CENCON – Clean Energy and Nano Convergence Center was established by HU and academic support from Quantum functional Semiconductor Research Center(QSRC) Dongguk University Seoul Korea.
The M.Tech nanotech course aims at training the students with the best of skills in the Nano research field and exposes them to have industrial training. Few internship agreements will be made with industries to give the M-tech students hands on industrial experience. To encourage academic research and to give impetus to student and faculty exchange in the areas of Nanotechnology and smart material research.
Hindustan University and Dongguk University Korea has signed an overall academic cooperation agreement in the year 2009 which includes student exchange short term faculty visits participation in summer schools joint research collaborations etc.
As a result of these continued research collaborations Dongguk University Seoul Korea. Cutting edge research on Solar cells photo catalysis green batteries functional materials green fuel production up conversion/down conversion phosphors are carried out in CENCON. Recently the center has been equipped with several sophisticated equipments for growth and characterization of next generation smart materials.
The CENCON researchers will get hands on experience with sophisticated tools with professional training. This programme gives an opportunity to researchers from CENCON to visit Dongguk University once or twice in the academic year 2014-2015. Joint research proposals are being applied for bilateral research grants from the respective countries. This MoU will provide the ground for CENCON Hindustan University to position itself to be the regional research hub in India in the area of nanotechnology and smart materials.
